Course Objectives
To verify those trained on Neogen mycotoxin tests can proficiently run the tests and obtain valid results.
Course Design
- Presentation on mycotoxins, regulatory status and risk assessment, sampling, and testing technique.
- Facility walkthrough assessing laboratory and equipment conditions, kit storage, sample preparation, retention library, high risk areas.
- Demonstration of proper pippeting technique and reader usage, software installation and setup of reader.
- One-on-one coaching and hands-on performance of a single assay. (Criteria for certification will be an acceptable correlation coefficient.) User is allowed to repeat assay if failures are observed. (HPLC confirmed check samples provided.)
- Proper care of equipment.
- Troubleshooting failures.
Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to successfully and independently perform Neogen’s mycotoxin assays.

Prerequisites / Proficiency Level
While no specific experience is required, it is highly recommended that participants be familiar with standard Good Laboratory Practices and ELISA techniques. All trainees must be available at the time of training. It is the responsibility of the local management to schedule 2nd and 3rd shift employees for availability.
Suggested duration up to 4 hours, based on attendee number. Add 1 hour for each additional 4 trainees. Kits and equipment for training must be on site and IT must provide any administrative rights needed for software installation.
