The test employs a specific aflatoxin antibody linked to gold particles. The preliminary incubation of the antibody reagent with milk containing aflatoxin M1 will result in interaction of the aflatoxin M1 with the antibody. In a second stage, the solution is transferred onto the lateral flow test strip. The first line formed on the test strip will capture all of the aflatoxin M1 antibody that has not interacted with the aflatoxin-M1 metabolite during the first incubation. The second line on the lateral flow test strip serves as a control line.
