Das Direct Yeast and Mould-Röhrchen mit Chloramphenicol (DYM-109C) verkürzt die Nachweiszeit von Hefen und Schimmelpilzen. Zur Minimierung des Handhabungsrisikos wurde diesem Röhrchen Chloramphenicol hinzugefügt. Wenn Kohlendioxid (CO2) durch wachsende Hefen und Schimmelpilze freigesetzt wird, diffundiert das erzeugte CO2 durch eine Membranschicht in einen weichen Agarpfropfen, der einen Farbstoffindikator enthält. Der Farbumschlag des Farbstoffes wird vom Soleris® Gerät abgelesen. Die Membranschicht fungiert auch als Barriere zum Schutz vor Interferenzen des Produkts mit dem Leseraster.
