[Truth in ATP Testing]

Several companies make devices that monitor the effectiveness of your sanitation program by measuring the amount of adenosine triphosphate, or ATP, left behind after your sanitation crew has finished its job.

To determine each system's performance, the Applied Research Center at NSF International conducted a study comparing the accuracy and consistency of the top 5 ATP systems.

Using real-world protocols here's what the NSF study concluded: Neogen®'s AccuPoint® Advanced ATP system consistently yielded the highest percent recoveries and the most consistent readings of the target analytes.

It's also important to remember that, in the real world, dirt is not evenly distributed on surfaces after cleaning. It's most often invisible and randomly distributed in small spots.

With this in mind, the NSF study tested how accurately and consistently each system found a randomly placed dot of ATP on a 4 by 4 inch stainless steel surface.

The data clearly shows that the AccuPoint Advanced system from Neogen recovered a percentage of ATP more than 2 times greater than the next best system.

As before, NSF evaluated these test results as expressed as a coefficient of variation.

The NSF report emphasized the AccuPoint Advanced system from Neogen "...proved to be the most consistent of the devices evaluated...."
