89% of corn is in the dented stage, which is 25 points ahead of last year's results and seven points ahead of the five-year average. Corn development is highly variable within some fields. 41% of corn is reported as mature while being 25 points ahead of last year and nine points ahead of the five-year average, showing great advancement. The NASS and USDA lowered its monthly corn production forecast from 15.3 to 14.9 billion bushels, due to storm damage in Iowa and drought in the corn belt states.
