Spring Wheat Highlight

  • Nationally, 68% of spring wheat acres are harvested

What does this mean?

As the spring wheat harvest makes it over the halfway point, the majority of U.S. crops are eight points behind the five-year average. We’ve received numerous reports from a variety of sources detailing the presence of DON and aflatoxin in spring wheat and wheat harvests.

Mycotoxins reports

We have a confirmed report of DON in spring wheat in ND, along with reports of DON in wheat.

  • (Spring Wheat) ND 1-3 ppm
  • (Wheat) NC: 1-3 ppm
  • (Wheat) KS: 5-10 ppm
  • (Wheat) VA: 3-5 ppm
  • (Wheat) MO: 5-10 ppm
  • (Wheat) ND: 1-3 ppm

We have a new report of aflatoxin in new crop corn in AL, along with a prior report in KS.

  • KS: > 100-300 ppb
  • AL: 20-50 ppb
