August 10, 2020

Oat Harvest Highlight

  • Oat acres are 49% harvested
  • Quality is 62% good to excellent

What does this mean?

The oat harvest is reaching the halfway mark for the season while showing steady development and a six-point improvement over the previous five-year average. 62% of the oat harvest is in good to excellent condition— just three points behind last year's average. With the recent cold front passing over the central Plains and Mid-Atlantic, cooler temperatures and showers took place in the Plains and Midwest and have improved the harvest conditions.
