LEXINGTON, Ky., July 28, 2015 — Neogen has introduced an oral fluid collection system that was designed to simplify the oral fluid sample collection process, and produce consistently accurate test results for the drug monitoring market.
Neogen’s new NeoSal™ oral fluid collection device features an easy-to-read sample volume adequacy indicator and proprietary sample stabilization buffer, which provides excellent recoveries of drug analytes and ensures stability of the sample during transport. NeoSal minimizes the need for additional sample preparation once the samples reach a testing laboratory.
“Through our strategic partnership with Oasis Diagnostics®, a leading manufacturer of oral fluid collection devices, we are excited to offer a reliable, easy to use, oral fluid collection device to the drug monitoring market,” said Neogen’s Emilie Stanley. “NeoSal was developed to collect an adequate volume of sample, and simplify the process at the testing laboratory by eliminating the need for additional sample preparation, such as centrifuging or plunging. A sample collected with NeoSal can be assayed with an oral fluid ELISA.”
NeoSal can quickly and reliably collect an oral fluid sample using a stimulant-free collection pad with a built-in volume adequacy indicator. The device’s unique collector handle design fits directly into the buffer tube, eliminating the need to separate the pad from the handle. The system’s buffer tube fits onto most standard automated instrument sample racks (12 x 75 mm), eliminating the need to transfer to additional tubes for sample processing.
