LEXINGTON, Ky., Aug. 26, 2020 — Neogen announced today the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) has determined that the company’s AquaPrime® Peraside™ 15 is in compliance with the USDA National Organic Program, with usage restrictions.

AquaPrime Peraside 15 is a 15% peroxyacetic acid-based product that has earned the OMRI’s certification for disinfecting facilities, processing equipment, seed and asexually propagated planting material, and for use in hydrogen peroxide formulations. The new certification, when combined with OMRI’s earlier certifications of AquaPrime Activator chlorine dioxide generator and AquaPrime NeoKlor water disinfectant, allows Neogen to offer a complete organic certified water treatment program.

“With this certification, we will have a full water treatment offering for our producers who operate under organic production umbrellas,” said Neogen’s Jesse McCoy, a Certified Water Specialist. “AquaPrime Peraside 15 is the line cleaner and disinfectant, which can be run through a medicator, and our AquaPrime NeoKlor and AquaPrime Activator are our chlorine dioxide disinfection package.”

AquaPrime Peraside 15 is EPA registered to clean and treat poultry and livestock drinking water lines. In addition to controlling bacteria, fungi, slime and odor in water lines, Peraside 15 was developed to sanitize and disinfect equipment, and treat fruit and vegetable process water systems. It can also be used to control bacteria and algae in wastewater treatment systems.

Neogen’s AquaPrime Peraside 15, NeoKlor and Activator are parts of the company’s water treatment program. AquaPrime NeoKlor can be used in combination with a chlorine dioxide generator to disinfect the drinking water of poultry, swine, cattle and other livestock operations. The product can also be used to disinfect food plant process, poultry process and industrial cooling water, and for clean-in-place water disinfection and wastewater systems.

AquaPrime Activator is used with AquaPrime NeoKlor to generate chlorine dioxide to disinfect animal drinking water. AquaPrime Activator is a chlorine dioxide activator and animal drinking water acidifier.
