LEXINGTON, Ky., Dec. 15, 2004 — NEOGEN Corporation announced that is has expanded its companion animal product line with the acquisition of the UriCon Chewable Tablet line from Agri-Labs based in St. Joseph, MO.
UriCon Chewable Tablets contain phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride (PPA), the most commonly prescribed treatment for urethral sphincter mechanism incompetence (USMI) in female dogs. The easy to use and administer UriCon chewables are much smaller than other PPA tablets—about half the size of others of the same dosage strength.
“The smaller, double-scored chewable tablets provide simple, convenient treatment, which will allow for more accurate dosing,” said Tracey Reynolds, Veterinary Marketing Manager.
UriCon’s double-scored 50-milligram chewable tablets allow easy, accurate dosing for most dogs with a single tablet dosage strength. UriCon’s flexible dosing with a single size tablet enables veterinarians to stock only one product to address most of their clients’ needs. UriCon is highly palatable, beef flavored tablet that will encourage animal acceptance and simplify administration. The tablets come conveniently packaged in a choice of 60- or 180-count bottles.
In addition to UriCon, NEOGEN’s line of small animal veterinary products includes:
NEOGEN Corporation (Nasdaq: NEOG) develops and markets products dedicated to food and animal safety. NEOGEN’s Animal Safety Division markets a complete line of diagnostics, veterinary instruments, veterinary pharmaceuticals, nutritional supplements, disinfectants, and rodenticides.
