Enzymatic Digest of Soy No. 2 is an enzymatic digest of soybean meal for use in preparing microbiological culture media in a laboratory setting. Enzymatic Digest of Soy No. 2 is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans.

Enzymatic Digest of Soy No. 2 is an enzymatic hydrolysate of soybean meal prepared under controlled conditions for use in microbiological procedures. Enzymatic Digest of Soy No. 2 is recommended for use in media for the cultivation of a large variety of organisms, including fungi and microbiological assay media. The nitrogen source in Enzymatic Digest of Soy No. 2 contains naturally occurring, high concentrations of vitamins and carbohydrates of soybean. Due to its high carbohydrate content, Enzymatic Digest of Soy No. 2 cannot be used for fermentation studies. This media ingredient produces clear solutions at culture media concentrations and neutral reactions after autoclaving.

Enzymatic Digest of Soy No. 2 minimizes Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) risk in vaccine production because of the plant origin of this product.
