Marking the Moment: Neogen® Logo Goes Up in Lansing
A sign of progress. Our new Neogen® Petrifilm® manufacturing facility is taking shape in Lansing, Michigan. Recently the Neogen logo was added to our new building—marking a major milestone in our journey to bring production of this trusted food safety solution home. 46 Containers, One Mission
In December 2024, the first major piece of machinery for manufacturing Neogen® Petrifilm® arrived in Lansing!
This specialized equipment traveled in 46 separate shipping containers, and our team is now hard at work assembling it—bringing us one step closer to enhancing food safety innovation.
From Contaminated to Clean: Preparing Our Petrifilm Site
Before we could begin building our new Neogen® Petrifilm® manufacturing facility, we took an important step for the environment—we removed 55,000 cubic yards of contaminated soil containing coal and petroleum. To put that into perspective, that’s the equivalent of clearing 11 acres of soil at a depth of three feet—a major step toward ensuring a cleaner, safer foundation for our new Neogen Petrifilm manufacturing facility.
How Many Petrifilm Plates Will it Take…?
When complete, our new Neogen® Petrifilm® manufacturing facility will stand 52’ tall, 128’ wide, and 543’ long. That equates to 1,558 Neogen® Petrifilm® plates tall, 16,551 plates long, and 3,901 plates wide, if stacked end-to-end! #PetrifilmToMI

We’re bringing Neogen® Petrifilm® home to our corporate headquarters in Lansing, Michigan, and the future looks bright! Two years ago, the site of our new, world-class manufacturing facility was just an empty parking lot.

The 175,000 sq.-ft. space represents the company’s investment in new manufacturing equipment and laboratory equipment for the test and release of products.
