Production Technician - Ayr, Scotland

We are currently looking to recruit a Production Technician to join our award-winning business at Ayr. Our team supports the European, Middle Eastern, African and Indian (EMEAI) territories for Neogen, a top performing NASDAQ listed business employing over 1,800 people worldwide.

Reporting to the Team Leader, the role will be within the Production department and requires that manufacture, recording of information and all processes related to Lateral Flow, ELISA and all other diagnostic products are carried out in compliance with the relevant Neogen Europe Quality Management System, policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Participate in testing of materials to ensure they are of good quality standard
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory and manufacturing equipment as required
  • Raise non-conformances, CAPA, deviations and change requests through the company Q Pulse quality system, as and when required, to ensure that all documents and processes related to manufacture of food safety diagnostic products are accurate reflections of actual practice and any variations of process are recorded
  • Take responsibility for the maintenance of stock and to carry out regular stock takes when required
  • Participate in product development and continuous improvement projects as directed by a senior staff member
  • Assist in the dispensing and packaging of all Food safety Products
  • Work in cooperation with the Production Support Team
  • Assist in the daily and weekly deep cleans as required
  • Ensure that laboratory environment is left tidy and that all equipment (where appropriate) is turned off at end of each working day
  • Any other duties delegated as and when required

 Skills & Experience required:

  • HNC or HND in Science background
  • Highly motivated, driven individual
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative
