Operation (Supply Chain/Logistics) Manager

Manager: Country Manager, Korea

Follows a variety of generally defined procedures under general guidance. Handles multiple inquiries and develops solutions for moderately complex issues.

Prepares demand estimates, provides import/export counsel, and regulates inventory levels. Participates in and lead projects. Works under limited supervision.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Follows a variety of generally defined procedures under general guidance within functional disciplines such as supply planning, warehousing, transportation, inventory/materials control, import/export, etc. Works independently and output is occasionally reviewed while in progress. The supervisor is consulted for assistance in problem areas.
  • Uses Supply Chain/Logistics theories and practices to provide guidance and/or training to lower level co-workers within the same or job-related work group on moderately complex duties.

  • Handles a variety of inquiries and develops solutions for moderately complex issues. Solutions are often based on the review of prior practices and/or experiences in similar situations. Most complex problem solving may require the use of experience, analysis, and research to resolve. Uses intermediate analytical skills to analyze trends or supply chain/logistics data. Uses short-term planning skills when forecasting or providing guidance to clients.
  • Decisions or actions are based on more alternatives and greater adaptation to circumstances, having a clear impact on operational effectiveness of work operations, schedules, or performance goals.
  • Work tasks encompass concepts within one or more discipline/practice within on department/location. Working tasks might include:
    • Performs moderately complex analysis and data interpretation to assist in the re-engineering of the supply chain material flow
    • Leads action plans to improve forecast accuracy
    • Leads correct execution of the Sales and Operation Planning Process
    • Contributes demand estimates that are accurate in quantity, timing and specification of required products
    • Provides a variety of transportation inquiries for assigned locations regarding carrier routing, transportation performance standards, etc.
    • Orders materials within the Just-in-Time format and procedures
    • Provides export regulatory and classification counsel for assigned product division(s)
    • Supports analyzing the impact of various marketing and sales strategies as they relate to manufacturing and distribution
    • Regulates and reconciles warehouse inventory levels
  • Primary contracts are typically internal and on a professional, supervisory, or co-worker level.
  • Interaction is focused on exchanging information directly related to the professional discipline, usually with explanation and discussion with an audience which is knowledgeable in the subject area.
  • Actively participates in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards, complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with Neogen’s values and ethical standards.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Logistics or related field
  • 7+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of theories and practices, typically applied to one discipline, such as supply planning, warehousing, transportation, inventory/materials control, import/export, etc.
  • Possesses knowledge of assigned area of responsibility and continues to expand knowledge of general Neogen structure, organization, and business.

Language Skills:

Business level of English

Mathematical & Computer Skills:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Knowledge of computer programs and corporate systems relevant to the assigned area of responsibility is normally required.
