Genomics Territory Manager – Victoria and Tasmania - Gatton, Australia

 

The primary focus for the Territory Manager will be overall sales, promotion, and placement of NEOGEN’s (genomics.neogen.com/au) Genomics/Genotyping products into the Australian agricultural industry and distribution channels within the assigned geographic territory. Position is field based and requires an unwavering entrepreneurial spirit and internal drive to grow market share and increase revenues.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Individual is responsible for revenue generation of Agrigenomics products and services into the territory.
  • Call on key customers and key prospects in the field and by telephone and e-mail, informs them of new and existing products/services, and explain characteristics and benefits.
    • Generate a sales “funnel” of qualified leads and customers.
    • Close business on a regular basis as recorded in Company’s CRM system.
  • Create a program for management of distributor sales network, motivating partners to actively promote genomic products to the industry, and leveraging them to expand Territory Manager’s scope of influence
  • Communicate with existing customer base on a consistent basis to:
    • monitor sales revenues;
    • grow share of wallet
    • leverage existing customers for new business
    • monitor competitive position; and
    • support distributor/s as needed
  • Travel, up to 50% to manage the territory and business development.
  • Develop formal sales plans and strategies to penetrate new markets and increase market share and profitability of territory. Provides written updates on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain databases of distributor representatives, key influences, and industry leaders.
  • Meet or exceed assigned budgeted sales revenues for department.
  • Aid in organizing customer sales meetings and make presentations.
  • Promote and sell Agrigenomics products and services offered by the company.
  • Work with the Sales and Marketing Manager to achieve key thought leader meetings and establish key promoters in the territory.
  • Represent company and analyze industry trade shows and meetings to:
    • promote products and services;
    • increase market and competitive knowledge; and
    • identify new products for distribution or development.
  • Conduct customer training at sales meeting and ranchers/producer meetings.
  • Quote prices and persuades prospects and customers to buy.
  • Work with customer service, R&D, and operations team to ensure client success.
  • Work with management to develop marketing and promotion ideas.
  • Develop long-lasting business relationships with key customers and industry influencers to support Neogen’s market position.
  • Manage customer data and compiles records and reports on sales activities.
    • Record names, address, purchases, and reactions of customers and prospects solicited in CRM software program.
    • Complete field call reports.
  • Strive to ensure expenses remain within budgeted expectations.
  • Portray a positive image of Neogen at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time, with the expectation of working with customers 4 days per week on average.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Degree in animal science, agribusiness, biology, or another related field
  • Demonstrated superior sales experience in Agriculture/agribusiness (4 or more years)
  • Experience selling into the livestock industry is desirable. Direct experience with the livestock industry (beef/sheep/dairy) an asset.

 

Compensation/Reimbursements:

  • Base Salary
  • % Commission, uncapped
  • 12% Superannuation
  • Annual Bonus Program
  • Business expenses within budget and/or assigned parameters
