Finance/Accounting Manager

Provides financial advice and consults with leadership team to set short-term strategic direction and operating plans for a typically small to medium complex market/manufacturing operation.
Determines directions, priorities and assigns resources with full accountability for results for functional area. Responsible for establishing and managing budgets for one or more departments within a functional discipline in Finance such as controlling, accounting, taxation, credit, audit, treasury, etc. Ensures compliance with internal controls and financial procedures.
Support the established procedures to accurately maintain the financial records of the organization and complete the daily accounting movements and other financial transactions according to the established policies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- May have direct responsibility or work with functional leader for functional strategic planning, including establishing and managing budgets for one or more departments in the immediate organization.

Management responsibility usually encompasses one work group/department within a functional discipline, such as controlling, accounting, taxation, credit, audit, treasury, etc. Determine priorities, timetables and assigns resources/tasks. Accountable for the activities and results of their functional area.
- Carry out the registration of the fixed expenses, travel expenses, reimbursements, corporate cards, and extraordinary expenses of the month.
- Performs various analysis necessary for the closing of each month. (depreciation, sales, costs)
- Support in the work papers required by the auditors of the fiscal and financial audits.
- Has responsibility for establishing and enforcing multiple concepts relative to the function. Working tasks might include:

Implements standards and defines guidelines for financial operations and financial measurement for assigned business areas.

Provides financial advice and counsel that is necessary for decision-making, operational/strategic planning, and asset and profit management. Typically relates to a small to medium established business.
- Leads and supervises complex audits and sensitive investigations.
- Applies parameter of internal controls to ensure financial integrity.

Implements tax and/or accounting policies.
- Represents Credit as an expert on strategies to achieve Accounts Receivable working capital
- Responsible for financial data integrity and accuracy

Facilitate effective price management including contract bidding and assessment of competitive price and unit cost analyses for assigned area of responsibility.

Responsible for financial data integrity and accuracy.

Represents Credit as an expert on strategies to achieve Accounts Receivable working capital targets. Acts as primary Neogen contact responsible for conducting difficult negotiation with companies experiencing severe financial distress, bankruptcies, and company principals questioning policies.

- Incumbent typically communicates with managers, functional leaders, area/business leaders, and department heads. May interact with external clients.
- Actively participates in relevant corporate programs/initiatives, complies with professional and quality standards, complies with corporate policies and procedures, and acts in a manner consistent with Neogen’s values and ethical standards.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance/Accounting or related field
- 7+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Expert/master knowledge and experience with the most current theories and practices in a related discipline and a thorough knowledge of more than one related discipline, such as controlling, accounting, taxation, credit, audit, treasury, etc.
Language Skills:
Business level of English.
Mathematical & Computer Skills:
Good mental arithmetic and a good level of numeracy.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
