Monday Mycotoxin Report

Food Safety

Neogen offers the most comprehensive range of mycotoxin test kits to detect aflatoxin, aflatoxin M1, deoxynivalenol (DON), fumonisin, ochratoxin, T-2/HT-2, and zearalenone. Neogen offers test kits  to compare samples against known levels of toxin, providing results in minutes and require only a minimal amount of training and equipment.

In addition to our mycotoxin test kits, we also provide Mycotoxin Reference Material (MRM) that gives our customers an internal way to evaluate their mycotoxin testing procedures. MRM is naturally-contaminated with toxins such as aflatoxin, DON or fumonisin to provide the most realistic testing scenario possible. You can choose from low, medium, high and undetectable contamination levels. MR is a crucial part of preventing false positives or negatives in mycotoxin testing.

Neogen's Reveal® Q+, a quantiative test, along with the Reveal, a visual screening test, are extremely easy-to-use and interpret test strips. The AccuScan® Pro lateral flow test reader provides an easy method to objectively read, store, and analyze results from Neogen’s Reveal product line.

Neogen’s Agri-Screen® mycotoxin kits are screening tests that compare up to 5 samples at a time against a known level of toxin. The tests provide visible results that clearly show whether a sample contains more or less of a toxin than the control provided.

Neogen’s Veratox® for mycotoxin kits are quantitative tests that compare up to 19 samples at a time against test controls. Through the use of a microwell reader, the tests provide accurate sample results in parts per million or parts per billion.

Neogen’s NeoColumn™ for aflatoxin, DON (vomitoxin), ochratoxin, T-2/HT-2 and zearalenone are immunoaffinity columns that efficiently clean and concentrate the toxins prior to analysis by HPLC, Neogen’s Veratox test kits or by direct read fluorometry.

Check Sample

Check Sample and Proficiency Programs

In today’s food safety-focused environment, it is key to any quality assurance program to have a reliable way to verify testing procedures, environment and equipment. Neogen offers Mycotoxin Check Sample and Gliadin Proficiency Programs as an easy and effective way to validate testing accuracy by allowing users to have their aflatoxin, deoxynivalenol (DON), fumonisin or gliadin protocols blindly tested by Neogen‘s expert staff. Users also receive blind data from other labs, allowing for useful protocol comparisons. Labs are identified only by a confidential number, ensuring privacy for program participants.
